After studying art at Stellenbosch University, a career as a bookdesigner and illustrator followed. Cape Town based Elizabeth also worked as an art dealer and art teacher.
Full time artist since 2002, she has been concentrating on abstract landscapes and flowers, working mainly in acrylic on canvas.
Earlier work, featuring portraitstudies done exclusively in pencil, received widespread acclaim.

Using little or no references, the artist draws inspiration from colours in front of her. Recollections of "experienced landscapes" and "expectations for the future" will determine the landscape which can be seen as "the world we want to be in." The "Soul Flower-Series" has a stronger emotional input. The paintings are intended to be more than mere moodstudies and are seen as conversations/communication between the artist and the viewer.

Paintings are widely represented in local and international collections.
